Huntley Fire Protection District
The Huntley Fire Protection District provides fire protection and emergency medical services to over 62,000 residents in a jurisdiction spanning a radius of 55 square miles. We proudly serve the communities of Huntley, Lake in the Hills, Algonquin, Hampshire, Gilberts and rural territories of Kane and McHenry Counties. Specialized teams and divisions include Fire Prevention, Training, EMS, Apparatus Maintenance, Hazardous Materials Team and Special Response Team.
In addition to Route 47, the region’s primary freight route, the Huntley Fire Protection District provides critical emergency services to an 9 mile corridor of Illinois Interstate 90.

Welcome to the Huntley Fire Protection District website. We hope you will take the time to look through our site to better understand the many services we provide to our community.
I began my fire service career in 1992 with HFPD, and throughout the years I have worked in every rank in our department. Having called this community home most of my life, I have a strong connection to its history, its culture, and its residents. To be named Fire Chief of the HFPD for me is a true blessing.
The Huntley Fire Protection District is on an endless mission to preserve lives and property in our community by providing services directed at the prevention of fires, accidents, and other emergencies while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness. While we strive to provide exceptional services, we solicit any and all information from our community.

The Huntley Fire Protection District is one of the largest fire districts in McHenry and Kane County. Our 75 sworn personnel and 22 part-time firefighters, paramedics and EMT's respond to over 6,800 fire suppression, emergency medical service, and rescue calls out of our five fire stations annually.
